Harper\, Jr.\, D.D.S. \nDescription:\nThe Medical Emergency Recognition Course covers the identification and prevention of potential medical emergencies and includes the following: \n\nMedical History;\nRecognition of common medical emergency situations;\nOffice emergency protocols;\nBasic airway management;\nPrevention of emergency situations during dental appointments; and\nRecognition of symptoms\, first aid treatment andpossible outcomes for patients who exhibit bleeding injuries\, cardiovascular disease\, insulin reaction\, diabetic coma\, shock\, syncope\, epileptic seizures\, and allergic reactions.\n\nThe course is four hours in length and fulfills the Ohio State Dental Board’s requirement of Dental Hygienists\, Expanded Function Dental Auxiliaries\, and Certified Dental Assistants practicing under general supervision\, as well as the Kentucky Board of Dentistry’s requirements for Dental Hygienists practicing in the State of Kentucky. \nSchedule:\n11:45 am:  Registration12:00 pm to 4:00 pm: Program \nCourse Fee:\n$75 for CDS Members (Includes Associate Members)$90 for ADA Members and $110 for Non-Members \nCE Credits: (4) Hours 								\n				\n				\n				\n							\n			\n						\n		\n						\n				\n				\n				\n									The Cincinnati Dental Society is an ADA CERP Recognized Provider approved by the ODA.
